An owner needs costs, outcomes and the decision they support
Explain spend, relevant inquiries, efficiency and the next decision without hiding uncertainty. A long list of delivery metrics leaves an owner unsure whether to continue, test or repair.
A business-owner report should explain spending, verified results, quality and remaining uncertainty. Platform terminology can stay in supporting detail, but it should not replace an answer to what the team learned and what changes next.
A worked example
A hypothetical report leads with a large impression count and a low CPC. A more useful review also states accepted suitable inquiries, known measurement gaps and the action chosen. If no supported opportunity data exists, it does not invent a pipeline total.
How to apply it
- State the completed period and spend scope.
- Separate attributed conversions from verified inquiries and downstream outcomes.
- Explain one or two material priorities with accountable next steps.
What the result can establish
Keep counts, rates and definitions consistent. Report acquisition costs only for the outcome and cost base actually measured. Favor an honest unknown over an impressive but unsupported return-on-investment figure.
