MARKETING INTELLIGENCE / ZERODARK INSIGHTS

What a Marketing Intelligence Platform Should Explain

Evaluate marketing intelligence platform features by tracing a KPI from source and definition to assessment, recommendation and historical report.

Test a workflow rather than count features

A marketing intelligence platform should help a reviewer move from a business question to evidence and a defensible next action. Integration counts, attractive charts and an AI label do not establish whether that workflow works for your business. Start with one question: “Which marketing issue should we address this month?” Then ask the provider to demonstrate the supporting source, metric definition, assessment and historical comparison. Use your required channels and business model as the evaluation context.

A practical evaluation matrix

A practical evaluation matrix
Requirement What to ask the provider to show
Supported sources The specific accounts, feeds and evidence types your use case needs
Metric definitions Units, direction, period, identity and deduplication rules
Business targets Which supported targets and thresholds can be configured
Scoring How category assessments and evidence coverage are explained
Interpretation How recommendations refer back to underlying observations
History A saved report and the basis for comparing periods
Delivery boundary What requires your team, a strategist or an execution service

Mark each requirement as demonstrated, partially supported, unsupported or still unverified. Do not convert an unverified feature into an assumed inclusion because a sales page uses broad wording.

What the SharkBlade demo demonstrates

The intelligence screen contains category scores, effective weights and evidence information. The monthly report preserves a dated summary with category and KPI evidence. Fin provides an interface for asking about workspace performance. Those are concrete demonstrations a buyer can inspect.

The demonstration is synthetic. It shows interface behavior and example interpretation, not the reliability of a prospect’s connection before onboarding. Ask what happens when a source is unavailable, a KPI is unmeasured or a reporting period is incomplete.

Avoid three common buying mistakes

First, do not assume a customizable dashboard implies customizable scoring formulas. In SharkBlade, business-specific supported targets and thresholds are a different capability from freely editing all weights or creating any formula. Second, do not assume an AI assistant performs the recommended marketing work. Fin supplies analysis and guidance. Changes to pages, campaigns or intake processes require execution by an authorized team. Third, do not equate captured leads with sales pipeline. A contact, an identified visitor and a company-intent signal carry different meanings. Qualified opportunities and revenue require appropriate downstream evidence.

Make the selection reviewable

Keep the matrix, the demonstrated screens and a list of open requirements. Ask for a proposal that states the workspace scope, support, usage conditions and any separate delivery work. The best fit is the option that meets your actual requirements with understandable limitations—not necessarily the longest feature list. For AI-specific tool selection, use the dedicated AI visibility evaluation guide. Agencies should also review workspace separation, client reporting responsibilities and total cost as their client count changes.
