Social Media Performance Across Multiple Locations

Distinguish local relevance from group-wide totals when reviewing several locations.

A healthy total can hide an inactive location

Distinguish local relevance from group-wide totals when reviewing several locations. One highly active location can conceal gaps in the rest of the organization's communication.

Multi-location social reporting needs both a consolidated view and local context. Locations may differ in audience size, service scope and operating capacity. A single account average cannot establish that each location is well served.

A worked example

A hypothetical group’s largest office produces most posts and responses while two locations have outdated contact information. Aggregate impressions rise, but those local journeys still need repair.

How to apply it

  • Define the account-to-location map and shared-content treatment.
  • Check local service facts, contact paths and distribution activity.
  • Compare locations with relevant denominators and explain operational differences.

What the result can establish

Do not imply a location received exposure merely because a central account published. Use local inquiry evidence where supported and keep unknown allocation separate. Benchmarking should compare sufficiently similar locations.
